Thanks to my 3 young boys (Elijah, Maxwell and Isaac), you lot'll oftentimes find me busy peeling spaghetti off the wall or getting buried under piles of laundry! My pastor husband, Eric, and I Dear our boys across belief. In fact, we beloved lots of kids. Over the past xvi years, we've worked in youth ministry, and while I've enjoyed summer camps and belatedly nighttime pizza, I never forgot what I said as a child in Council Bluffs, Iowa, 'I want to be the next Barbara Walters.' Okay maybe non the blond hair (I like being a brunette), but the interviewing part. I enjoy getting to know people - sitting downwardly for a chat over cheesecake. With a degree in broadcast journalism, I tried radio, Tv set and Public Relations, and a decade ago God gave me the privilege of joining the team at Chiliad-LOVE. Now, I can chat with my friends and off-air I can sing to my best friend Jesus at the top of lungs! I am thankful that every day I can live out God's promises in my life verses, Jeremiah 29:11-13: "'For I know the plans I have for you,' says the Lord. 'They are plans for expert and not for disaster, to give you lot a future and a promise. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If yous await for me wholeheartedly, you will detect me.'"

K-Honey: Start of all, thank you for taking the time to do this.
Skip:: No trouble, happy to do then.
K-Dear: Shall we become started?
Skip:: Yeah, and that's your beginning question
Chiliad-Dear: Okay…what brings you to Grand-Love?
Skip: A 2006 Jeep…but seriously, after years in secular radio I got The calling. And when He taps you on the shoulder, you gotta answer.
Thou-Dear: So this is your outset ministry?
Skip: Yeah. It'southward kind of a natural progression. I did land radio for decades and state is i of the only places on the radio where you are allowed…encouraged to have and show your religion. There are a lot of similarities in the personal values of the country audience and the Christian audience…God, land and family. Does that make sense?!?

Skip: Is that a question?
1000-Beloved: Sure.
Skip:: I'm a fun-loving left-hander who loves pizza and movies…see what I did there? Only seeing if you're paying attention. Really I'yard just an average guy. I was built-in in Shreveport, grew up almost Los Angeles. I'g a frustrated musician, a lousy athlete, I love movies, Tv set and eating what's mostly bad for me. I accept this obnoxious power to call back all sorts of useless things. I'm non a sports geek but I exercise love baseball and football. I listened to a lot of radio…a lot!
Thou-LOVE: How did you lot go into radio?
Skip: It was the issue of a friendly wager…
K-Dearest: Really?
Skip: Yes, and that'due south a question…Later a failed attempt at Seminary, I was studying political science and theater when my girlfriend at the time heard an ad for a broadcast school. She wagered me a home cooked fried chicken dinner that I would be accustomed if I auditioned. Going to that audience was the 2nd smartest affair I ever did.
K-LOVE:Second…
Skip:: I married that girl. We have iii grown kids and a dog…Franklin. Radio has given me this unbelievable opportunity to heighten my kids all over the land. From LA to Tulsa to Tucson to Phoenix to St Louis to San Diego back to LA to Columbus to Tampa to Dallas. We're one motion away from U-Booty Platinum status…if there is such a thing
G-LOVE: So what's it similar to be a member of the K-Beloved family unit?
Skip: That word right there; "family." From the moment I walked into the building, I've been welcomed with open arms. Everyone has been amazingly kind. And working with Amy is an absolute joy.
One thousand-Honey: What tin can nosotros expect from the Thou-LOVE Morning Evidence with Skip Mahaffey in the mix?
Skip: My goal is to entertain...just make people express joy. There is so much negativity out there and I think the best way to spotlight the positive things in life is with humour. I have what we do very seriously simply I don't accept myself seriously at all. I believe nosotros have to see the humor in our own flaws. Sense of humour and sarcasm don't run in my family unit…they gallop. Laughter is 1 of God's greatest creations…along with butter. I'm too a big believer in jubilant the accomplishments of the common man. Nosotros need to smoothen His light on all those around us.

Skip: Yep. I am securely humbled and honored to be part of this K-LOVE ministry. I hope I don't let anyone down.
